About Us
Founded in 2019, Melbourne Ink Fragrance Pavilion Calligraphy Studio is located in Chadstone, in Melbourne’s southeastern suburbs. The studio is dedicated to the promotion and preservation of traditional Chinese arts, with a focus on calligraphy, Chinese painting, and the erhu. Our mission is to introduce the beauty and depth of Eastern calligraphic art to Australia, providing students with authentic, structured, and professional training while preserving this treasured cultural heritage.
The studio is led by Jenny Deng (邓怡君), an experienced calligrapher and educator trained under renowned Chinese calligraphy masters. With extensive experience in both artistic creation and teaching, Jenny personally conducts classes to ensure the highest standard of instruction. The studio offers an elegant and inspiring learning environment, fully equipped with professional calligraphy materials, and regularly hosts exhibitions, artist gatherings, and cultural events to encourage artistic exchange and foster a vibrant creative community.
In addition to studio-based courses, we provide Chinese calligraphy and cultural workshops for schools, corporations, and community organizations, allowing a broader audience to experience the richness of traditional Chinese culture. 藝術追求 | ARTISTIC JOURNEY
Jenny began studying calligraphy at the age of five under the guidance of renowned calligraphers 俞昌平 and 沈鴻根.
Grounded in the classical traditions of 顏真卿 and 柳公權, she has devoted herself to the study of the four major script styles—Regular (Kaishu), Cursive (Caoshu), Clerical (Lishu), and Seal (Zhuanshu). She further specialized in the running script of 沈伊默, as well as the refined art of miniature “fly-head” small regular script (Ying Tou Xiaokai).
With over thirty years of disciplined practice, Jenny has developed a distinctive artistic style characterized by elegance, fluidity, and a fresh, ethereal refinement.

教學經歷 | TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Jenny has been teaching calligraphy in Melbourne for the past five years, nurturing many outstanding students.
She is dedicated to sharing the richness of traditional Chinese culture overseas and enabling the art of calligraphy to flourish and shine beyond its country of origin.
